News for March 5, 2024

This Sunday, Mar 10: In-person service at 10am

Our guest preacher on Sunday will be Marilyn Garrison, speaking on "A different way to think about your Bucket List." Her comments will be based on a Daily Devotional by Rev. Dr. Mary Luti, a longtime seminary educator and pastor, author of "Teresa of Avila's Way" and numerous articles, and a founding member of The Daughters of Abraham, a national network of interfaith women's book groups.

Choir will rehearse at 8:45am. Lenten choir will meet for the next four Sundays and sing on Easter morning and possibly other times as well. Anyone interested is welcome to come sing with us.

Set your clocks ahead an hour on Saturday night. Otherwise you'll arrive at church in time for the benediction!

The Giving Sunday offering for March is for Stefan Waligur's Community of Peace in Louisa, Virginia. They've made so much progress in the last few years, welcoming residential members and hosting many temporary visitors, refurbishing buildings on their property, adding a labyrinth and chickens and so forth. We regularly sing a number of chants written by Br. Stefan and this is our way of saying thank you.

Taize this Friday at 7:30pm

Join us on Friday evening for our monthly service of chant, prayer and silence. Hilary Lewis will be there with her viola, which always adds so much to the music. We'll share poetry by Denise Levertov ("Flickering Mind") and a prayer from the Corrymeela Community in Ireland.

The usual zoom room will be open and the bulletin will be online.

We will be receiving new members into the church on Easter Sunday. If you would like to join, or are just interested in finding out more about what membership entails, please talk to Polly.
