Lenten series: Gifts of the Dark Wood
For Lent, the theme of our sermon series will be “Gifts of the Dark Wood." The dark wood is a metaphor for the difficult times in our lives. We’ll be talking about the things we learn about ourselves, and how to live our lives during these times. We have a number of interesting speakers lined up for Lent, including Ann Keiffer, Jan Lamphier, Ed Morgan, Roy Gesley, and others.
Read Rev. Polly Moore's Mar 3 sermon, which serves as an introduction to the series.
Spiritual resources for difficult times
During this time of uncertainty, we'll be sharing various spiritual resources. If you have suggestions, please email us.
To begin, here's advice from a Dominican nun who has practiced "social distancing" for the past 30 years: "Stop. Be still. You can either waste this period of social-distancing and be frustrated, or you can choose to make it the best it can be. First you need to establish structure...."
Quote of the week
"You do not need to know precisely what is happening, or exactly where it is all going. What you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment, and to embrace them with courage, faith, and hope."
